As my cover designer and editor put the final touches on my new book, “Vicious Sky and Bloody Ground”, I’m diving into my next project: “The Battle for Ste. Mère-Église.”
Built on first-hand accounts from veterans who fought there - stories they shared with me in the 1970s and ’80s - this book tells the gripping story of the 82nd Airborne Division’s finest hour.
Their mission was clear but perilous: seize and hold the critical Norman town of Ste Mere Église and the vital causeways at La Fière and Chef-du-Pont.
Dropped into chaos, facing fierce resistance and overwhelming odds, the paratroopers of the 82nd battled to secure these key positions. Their success was crucial to the entire D-Day invasion
Stay tuned for upcoming “Vicious Skies and Bloody Ground” and the new project
